Why former President Moi is admitted at Nairobi Hospital

BY JOSEPH KANGOGO

Former President Daniel Arap Moi was today in the afternoon admitted at Nairobi Hospital to undergo a routine medical check-up.

This is according to his physician Dr. David Silverstein who said the former president will spend a couple of nights in the hospital.

“This is to accord the doctors enough time to carry out their medical investigations” Dr. Silverstein said in a statement to newsrooms.

Moi has been well and he has in the recent past been busy receiving high profile visitors in his Kabarak home in Nakuru County.

Among the visitors who have so far visited him President Uhuru Kenyatta, ODM leader Raila Odinga, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Mombasa Governeor Hassan Joho.

In May 4, Deputy President William Ruto’s visit was aborted as the former president was said to be busy with his routine personal doctors.

In March 12, Mzee Moi left the country after he was being for medical checkup in Israel.

This was after Mzee’s last born son, Baringo county Senator Gideon Moi hinted the public that, “the old man is not feeling well.”

During his visit to Israel Moi also visited the historical places that Jesus Christ stepped in the city of Jerusalem.

Moi who is celebrated his 94 birth day this year, was the president of the republic of Kenya for 24 years after taking over from the first independence president Mzee Jomo Kenyatta.

In his latest meeting with Musyoka in Kabarak on November 16, the former president urged on young leaders to embrace unity and honesty.

“Because the future of this country is in your hands, young leaders should forge friendship rather than disintegration ” Moi said.

Kalonzo, who was accompanied by his son Kennedy Musyoka (EALA MP), Senators Enock Wambua, Mutula Kilonzo Jnr, and Kanchory Memusi.

The brigade who arrived at Mzee Moi's home minutes past 11am was received by Senator Gideon Moi, MPs William Kamket (Tiaty) and Silas Tiren (Moiben).

Leaders allied to DP Ruto have been pressuring the handlers of Mzee Moi to allow them make a visit, but all has been futile.
