The much coveted annual awards event was held in Monaco on Monday night.
Kipchoge achieved the award after he set a new record in the men’s marathon, lowering the previous record set by Dennis Kimetto by seventy eight seconds.
He posted;

However he missed out on the Sportsman of the year award which was won by Novak Djokovic.
There were six superstars nominated for the Sportsman category, including World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe, Ballon D’or winner Luka Modric and Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton, as well as eventual winner Djokovic.
