When dignitaries such as Members of Parliament and rich city businessmen visit the less fortunate or are invited to a harambee, what is the expectation that wananchi have of them? That they will come with loads of cash to leave behind right?
It seems that is not the case with a section of Ugandan MP's who had the nerve to go to visit orphans at their home where it is said they donated sh1,200. They topped it off with loaves of bread to go with that.
It is worthy to note that there were 13 MP's.
According to the Ugandan Daily Monitor. the honorables visited an old woman who is struggling to raise her 10 grand children.
Now don't get me wrong, any donation is welcome, or perhaps it was mid-month and they were waiting for pay day like the rest of us.
You and I can easily raise 10k, without much effort. How much do you think they spent fueling their cars, and the per diem earned to do their work? Much more than they donated.
Drop your comments below. Is society judging them too harshly.
