On Sunday night, the hilarious presenter slept like an angel knowing very well he was one game away from being Sh250,000 richer three or so days before pay day after he went on a betting spree over the weekend.
According to Gidi, armed with a thousand shillings, he placed a 13-match bet slip which had the likes of Manchester United and a host of other teams which he considers rivals with the aim of debuting his betting career on a record breaking note. But having slept with one foot already on the finish line, French league side, Gijon all but ruined the final score courtesy of a 4-2 win over the presenter's favorite team or rather guardian angel, Lyon Football Club.
Thanks to Gidi's friend, Edu who recently won Sh,300,000 through betting, the presenter was lured into the 'investment' plan which he has consistently being crusading against and it seems like he should have stuck to his heart's desires.
"Mr. Edu taught me betting tricks and according to him, one shouldn't bet only on teams playing on one day but spread the bet slip across one week." narrated Gidi. "So I did bet on 13 teams with one thousand shillings and I almost crashed my car when I logged in to check my betting status, since Gijon had hammered Lyon 4-2," added a distressed Gidi, who claimed that he'll never go back to betting since "Betting inanyonya".
