Four more people have died from yesterday’s accident along Thika Road, bringing the death toll to 11.
At least 10 others are still admitted at Kenyatta National Hospital and Neema hospital.
Seven died on spot after the morning accident.
The mishap near Garden City Mall involved at least four vehicles, including two PSV matatus.
Witnesses said that a matatu plying the Mwiki route hit a rail after the driver swerved to avoid hitting a lorry carrying bricks.
The driver then lost control of the vehicle, flew over the rails to the opposite lane and overturned landing on a Nanyuki-bound matatu.
The accident caused a major traffic snarl-up lasting several hours before the scene was cleared.
Kasarani OCPD Joseph Wambua said they are investigating the incident.
